Semblance

Toni Fitzmaurice, fifth of seven children born to Lieutenant Colonel Engineer José Luis Flores Silva and María Antonieta Lara, daughter of Major General Félix Lara Medrano, a soldier who participated in the Mexican Revolution. Her sweetness, intelligence and support for her husband made her mother the unifying factor for the entire family; values that drove Toni and each of her siblings to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Her love for her profession has always been one of her pillars. Over the years she has applied all her knowledge and experience in international business consulting and in the commercialization of high-tech platforms from her own international project consulting firm Fitzmaurice & Associates LLC., helping other entrepreneurs and important publicly traded corporations to achieve their consolidation and commercial success. In the professional field, she has been highly distinguished and recognized by companies such as Monotech International, Parsons Brinkerhoff, USDesal, Stuart Entertainment, Great Luck LLC; all of these with international recognition. She is also Director and Legal Representative of the company Galway LLC.

His most important formative stage was spent in this border region, full of commercial and social contrasts, a multicultural environment in constant development. His passion for history and interest in social causes were instilled by the example of his father, who was a prominent and recognized cultural promoter and disseminator of the history of this border region.

It has been 14 years since Toni formally began her greatest mission and the one she is most passionate about, a social entity through which she could channel all her learning, her interest and need to serve her binational community through the creation of the International Foundation “Las Damas de San Diego”, a non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of life of families on both sides of the border and fighting for a more just and equitable society; through the strengthening of other organizations with similar objectives that work in the areas of health, education, art and culture and humanitarian service. In May 2013, Toni also created the comprehensive preventive health program “Las Damas Por Ellas” that prevents and treats women with breast and cervical cancer. In the last nine years of being part of this program, she has carried out cancer fighting campaigns, preventive health fairs for cancer and four binational academic medical congresses on breast and cervical pathology. A scientific and demographic study was conducted on the first 500 of 5,118 women treated through this program, which showed that 11% of these women were diagnosed with cancer and immediately treated in a timely manner.

Toni is very satisfied with the great achievements that have favorably impacted the lives of each of the beneficiaries, and with the actions of altruistic collaborators and health providers who support the “Las Damas Por Ellas” program. She is very proud and thanks in advance all the people, organizations and companies that have contributed to the fulfillment of her mission. The work carried out by Toni through Las Damas de San Diego Foundation has been widely recognized by government institutions, diplomats, civil society organizations and public and private companies on both sides of the border.
